Makusha, Mvumvure and Pietersen Participate in 12th IAAF World Championships
Two former WWS Athletes Gabriel Mvumvure and Ngoni Makusha and the young African talent Tamla Pietersen compete in the World Athletics Championships in Berlin, Germany. Mvumvure is set to storm the 200 m against Tyson Gay and Usain Bolt posting a qualifying time for the games of 20.72 s while Makusha is set to be a potential medallist in a very strong Long Jump field. Makush plagued with injuries this year comes off another successful College Season where he once again won the NCAA Championships in the Long Jump with a jump of 8.15 m. His personal best being 8.30 m. Pietersen the youngest competitor in the World Games is coming off a very successful African Regional series where she came 2nd in Southern Africa in the 100 m and first in Southern Africa in the 100 m Hurdles.
