December 6th, Boston, USA

Boston, USA — Rising South African sprint star Karabo Letebele (@karabo_.letebele) capped off his breakthrough season with a strong showing at the prestigious New Balance Early Bird Indoor Championship.

In his indoor debut, Letebele faced the challenge of adapting to new starting blocks and the unique atmosphere of an indoor stadium. Despite the unfamiliar conditions, the 18‑year‑old delivered yet another world‑class performance, clocking 6.59 seconds in the 60m dash.

This result adds to his growing list of achievements, following his historic qualification for the World Athletics Indoor Championships earlier this season.

🗣️ Karabo Letebele said:

“I am ready to close my season now and visit some colleges! Thanks to my coach and management team — this has been a good run, and I’m looking forward to next year!”

“Karabo continues to show maturity beyond his years. To adapt so quickly to indoor competition and still produce a sub‑6.60 performance is remarkable. His journey is only beginning, and we are proud of how he has closed this season,” said Munya Maraire, CEO of World Wide Scholarships and manager to Letebele.

With the indoor season now behind him, Letebele will turn his focus to preparations for the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Toruń, Poland (March 20–22, 2026), where he will represent Team South Africa against the world’s best.
