Western Cape Schools Athletics × World Wide Scholarships Europe Tour — Athletes Return Home After Historic International Pathway Experience

The top young athletes from Western Cape Schools Athletics (WCSA) have officially returned home after completing a momentous international tour to Europe, delivered through the strategic collaboration between WCSA and World Wide Scholarships (WWS). This groundbreaking initiative marks a first for school‑aged athletes in the province, offering international exposure to talented youth regardless of background, creed, colour, or financial means.

A Milestone for Youth Sport Development

The Europe Tour provided athletes with the opportunity to compete on an international stage, experience new cultures, and gain invaluable global perspective. Despite the threat of escalating conflict in the Middle East affecting travel routes through Dubai, the team navigated every challenge with resilience, supported by dedicated parents, coaches, schools, and the WWS community.

The athletes representing the Western Cape included:

•⁠ ⁠Miché Van Staden — 100m & 200m

•⁠ ⁠Ruben Kruger — 100m & 200m

•⁠ ⁠Aneeq Salie — 400m

•⁠ ⁠Aushwin Lee Jantjies — 400m

•⁠ ⁠Luvo — Long Jump

These athletes demonstrated exceptional discipline and pride while representing South Africa abroad.
