South Africa’s rising sprint phenomenon Sarah Reed continues her extraordinary ascent on the global stage, with her recent performances reaffirming her position as World No. 1 in the U18 200 m rankings.

Reed clocked an exceptional 23.43 in the 200 m — a time that not only cements her at the top of the world list but also signals her readiness to challenge the very best at upcoming international competitions. She also recorded a strong 11.64 in the 100 m, underscoring her versatility and dominance across the sprint spectrum.

Currently based in KwaZulu‑Natal, Reed trains under elite sprint coach Chris White, widely regarded as one of South Africa’s most gifted youth‑development coaches. Together, they are building a foundation focused on long‑term excellence, technical mastery, and athlete well‑being.

Reed is proudly managed by World Wide Scholarships (WWS), Africa’s leading athlete‑development and career‑pathway organization.

Statement from Munya Maraire, CEO of World Wide Scholarships

“Sarah Reed is young and very gifted. She will make waves at the World Junior Championships and the senior South African Championships, but it’s important to remember she is still young.

There is no rush. What matters most right now is building her brand and expanding her NIL opportunities. Her long-term success depends on patience, protection, and strategic growth — and with a coach like Chris White guiding her, the future is bright.”

With her world-leading times, disciplined training environment, and a management team focused on athlete protection and brand development, Sarah Reed stands as one of South Africa’s most exciting young prospects.
