This strategic partnership will expand access to scholarships, elite talent development, and mentorship programs—working hand-in-hand with ministries of sports and education across Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. The initiative aims to create structured pathways for young people to rise through sport, academics, and leadership, transforming local promise into global impact.

In a joint interview, WWS CEO Munya Maraire and Professor PLO Lumumba, founder of the PLO Lumumba Foundation, explored the transformative power of sport on the African continent. They emphasized the urgent need for systemic change, infrastructure investment, and visionary leadership to ensure African youth are not left behind in the next wave of global opportunity.

“This is more than a partnership—it’s a movement,” said Maraire. “We’re building bridges between continents, institutions, and generations to ensure that talent is never wasted due to lack of access.”

Professor Lumumba added, “Africa’s youth are its greatest asset. Through this collaboration, we aim to equip them with the tools, networks, and mindset to lead Africa into a new era of prosperity.”

Together, WWS and the PLO Lumumba Foundation will launch joint programs, scholarship drives, and youth empowerment campaigns—setting a new standard for international collaboration rooted in excellence, equity, and African pride.
