120+ budding young Zambian soccer players took part in the World Wide Soccer Trials event in Lusaka on Sunday May 26th at International School of Lusaka.
The trials were run by World Wide Scholarships Organization and coordinated by Former Sunderland FC coach Fabrizio Piccareta a UEFA pro licensed coach.
After a rigorous selection 32 players emerged all selected for the different sets of opportunities based on their level of talent and age. Many of the selected players will attend rigorous training camp in South Africa in June and August schools holidays in order to prepare for their upcoming opportunities.
Opportunities for the youngsters included:
- Invitation to international soccer camps with SSC Napoli FC
- Scholarships to USA and Europe based universities
- Professional trials at European academies and clubs
World Wide Soccer Trials is on an Africa talent hunt which will see 12 countries scouted in 2024. Nations included are: Zimbabwe, Zambia, Lesotho, DRC, Mozambique, Eswatini, Botswana, South Africa, Angola, Tanzania, Rwanda and Kenya.
