Grey College Bloemfontein alumnus and former athletics captain Karabo Letebele has burst onto the international sprinting scene with a remarkable 100m time of 10.27 s seconds. This outstanding performance has catapulted him to the forefront of the global rankings. Letebele's success is guided by Coach Herman and he is represented by World Wide Scholarships.

Letebele, the reigning national champion in the 100m for 2024, is a remarkable young talent with immense potential. At just 18 years old, he is set to make his mark again next year at the U20 World Junior Championships in Oregon.

Munya Maraire, head of Letebele's management team at World Wide Scholarships, expressed enthusiasm about his future prospects: "Karabo is an exciting young talent, already competing at a high level. Our focus is on reaching all junior milestones this year, including the South Africa U20 championships, and the continental and global U20 events in 2026. Excelling in senior competitions would be an incredible bonus, but he has plenty of time ahead."

Letebele's performance this season surpasses those of Australian sprint sensation Gout Gout, highlighting his prowess in the 100m event. Could this set the stage for a thrilling showdown among the top junior sprinters? Only time will tell!
